HTG-722X
Open-Source RAUT On-Line System
"ClienbServer" Mode
HTG-722X is an independent unit to be linked to the PC host via network. The software on the host as the client will send commands to the HTG-722X and get feedbacks.
Secondary Development
The SDK will be provided for programming on QT platform. Apart from source codes and demo app, originally sampled data, algorithms of L/S scan and the image are available for secondary development or build-up.
Modular Design for Channel Upgrade
Modular design makes possible a variety of upgradable configurations from 16:64 to 64:256. Channels for conventional UT can be incorporated besides those for PAUT.
MultiGroup RAUT Scan
The advanced ttgroup in parallel" mode serves the purpose of scanning with multiple probes for different parts of the object at the same time, making inspection faster than before. The PC host can be connected to multiple sets of HTG-722X and takes control of them so as to synchronize the whole system of inspection.

Application Case: Locomotive Wheel Axle Inspecting System
This system was designed by one of our partners and provided for some vehicle plant in the charge of CRRC, to inspect their product -- locomotive wheel axle, covering up the relief groove, the wheel base and the gearbox base. For application purpose, this system was designed as a semi-automatic one with the gantry able to be moved to the wheel set. It comprises the machinery, the instrument, the PC host and the software elaborated as follows:
Machinery
This part includes the gantry, the probe fixture and the trolley. The gantry is movable, with four wheels carrying it to the very location where it can then be locked still. The fixture is to be installed on the gantry and moving horizontally or vertically with elastic coupling unit and the couplant (water) to ensure sound coupling between the probe and the axle body. There's an encoder attached to the fixture to obtain the circumferential position information of the probe. The trolley is used for loading the control box, water tank, PC host and phased array instrument to be moved with the gantry.
Instrumentation
This part consists of a 32:128 HTG-722X and a 32-element linear RAUT probe of pitch 1.0mm and 55°wedge curved to suit the axle body. The encoder installed on the probe fixture is to be connected to either one of the two ports on the instrument so as to obtain the circumferential position information of the probe and transfer it to the PC host client.
PC Host and Software
Whether laptop, desktop or IPC is applicable depends on the circumstance. For the sake of convenience, this system adopts an ASUS laptop configured with Gigabit-NIC, i7 CPU, 4G memory and 1T storage. The software was programmed through C++. The interface is divided into S- scan zone, A-scan zone, C-scan zone and prefs. S-scan images and A- scan waveforms are to be mapped directly by the data received. For C- scan, the depth information of S-scan is extracted for projection with the data registered by the encoder. It only took one month to finish this software.
